Pigeon guano clean-up – Facilities Management, West London

SafeGroup specialist cleaners were called in to investigate after employees in an office block alerted their FM provider to bad smells.

They found the cause of the noxious odours on the roof. Hundreds of pigeons were roosting on heating pipes that should have been out of bounds.

Because of the location, pressure washing the bird droppings was not possible. Instead, the SafeGroup operatives cleaned the guano by hand, wearing appropriate PPE to prevent contamination. SafeGroup’s pest control team also carried out bird proofing to keep out the feathered squatters.
