Tracey says: “It seems unbelievable that anyone could walk on burning coals that hot but I am told others have done fire walks before so I’m prepared to give it a go too.”
Hot feet
Tracey is a volunteer in Weston Hospicecare’s shops so is passionate about supporting an organisation that provides essential care for people with life-limiting illnesses, their families and loved-ones.
Also, she has experience of putting her poor feet under stress for charity, having carried out a walk over broken glass before.
Tracey says: “It is a bit strange that my feet have played such a big part in my charity fundraising. But I do like them really! Weston Hospicecare is such a wonderful organisation that I didn’t hesitate to take part.”
The fundraising fire walk event will definitely warm up proceedings when it takes place at the Royal Hotel on the seafront at Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.
Specialist services
Tracey will be in good hands, or is that feet?
Overseeing the event will be Scott Bell, of Firewalk UK, twice holder of the Guinness World Record for the greatest fire walking distance.
Weston Hospicecare provides its services for people living in Weston-super-Mare and North Somerset free of charge, with care provided at the hospice and in the community.
