Bird spikes are a humane and effective method of preventing birds from roosting on your property. Contrary to popular belief, the spikes do not harm the birds; the feet of larger birds such as pigeons or seagulls are not adapted to landing on thin, spiky branches, so they are simply unable to perch there. It is worth noting, however, that smaller birds such as sparrows will not be deterred by spikes, so additional prevention methods such as bird netting may be required.
Most often used in town and city centres for pigeon control, bird spikes are ideally placed on flat surfaces where birds may want to land, such as signs, roofs, chimneys, gutters, pipes and statues. They can be fixed to almost any material, including glass, metal, masonry, plastic and even canvas.
Anti-roosting spikes are a cost-effective, versatile and durable bird exclusion device. Made from stainless steel, they are extremely quick to install and will keep birds from roosting on your building for many years with little maintenance. The spikes are also completely reversible, so if you decide that you no longer want to use them, they can be removed with no damage to your property. We install bird spikes across London and the surrounding areas. We have been trusted by clients such as The NHS.
Pigeon spikes are a humane form of pigeon control that is attached to buildings, deterring birds from perching and roosting. They do not harm pigeons- they simply reduce the space available for them to land on.

What are bird spikes?
Bird spikes are one of the most effective ways to keep pigeons away from your property. They prevent birds landing on it in large numbers, and can be installed outside or inside as long as they have a smooth surface below them like brick walls for example.
Are bird spikes safe?
Pigeon spikes are the best way to keep birds away. They’re quick and easy to install, versatile enough for any situation you encounter with these pesky creatures (pigeons or gulls) in your area of London – not just pigeons!
What areas do you cover?
We have a branch within London. This means we can cover all areas of London and some of the surrounding areas. We have a team of specially trained staff who offer our bird spikes services.
Can you operate outside of business hours?
Yes. We often provide services to commercial clients outside of their business hours. Contact us today and we can accommodate our services at a time that suits you.
What experience does SafeGroup have?
SafeGroup has been providing specialist cleaning, pest control and waste management services since the company was founded in 2004. Key members of the senior leadership team have many more years’ experience in the delivery of Specialist Cleaning services.
Operatives undergo training and extensive induction processes on joining SafeGroup even if they have previously worked in the Specialist Cleaning and waste sector.
How long will the job take?
There is no specific defined timeframe for each of the services that SafeGroup provides. For cleaning and pest solutions, the time needed will depend on the size of the area and the complexity of the task. For waste management services, time on site depends on the type and volume of waste, ease of access to the waste, and the size of the area the waste covers.
Based on initial discussions, we will give you an indication of length of time each job will take. If necessary, this can be supported by a site visit, which will help us assess timeframes.
What accreditations does SafeGroup hold?
SafeGroup is a member of several external independent trade organisations which regularly audit the company. Our accreditation certificates and membership organisations can be found on this page https://thesafegroup.co.uk/accreditations/.
