Moving to a new job is challenging but doing so during the COVID-19 pandemic is perhaps more stressful still. That did not stop Debbie Flynn joining SafeGroup – and she is loving it already.
Debbie is the company’s new business development manager and was immediately impressed with the combination of a professionalism and caring approach to business she found.
Positive experience
She said: “Because SafeGroup is so involved in COVID-19 cleaning for so many organisations, deciding to join during the second pandemic lockdown felt a bit like jumping into a fast flowing river without a lifebelt.
“But it’s actually been a very positive experience. Everyone has been very friendly and welcoming, just mostly virtually. Colleagues have been concerned to make sure I’ve got everything I need to do my job. Just as impressive is the way directors have shown concern for my personal wellbeing as well.
“It’s good to feel cared about and I can see that also translates into the way colleagues look after clients. They care about customer interests and providing a personal service. It’s made me realise I’ve made the right move.”
Trusted advice
SafeGroup Managing Director Mike Drake said Debbie’s knowledge and experience perfectly complement the talent in the sales team.
He added: “We’re delighted to welcome Debbie into the SafeGroup team. She has a wealth of selling and account management experience, and is well-liked by her clients, who trust her advice.
“After only a few days of working with her, we’re already impressed by her energy and initiatives. Debbie’s timely arrival is helping us keep up with the huge number of enquiries we’re receiving about our Covid-19 decontamination services.”
Debbie has 20 years of experience working in the facilities management industry and previously had a senior sales role at another specialist cleaning business.
She is also pleased to be joining SafeGroup at a time of significant transition as the company brings its specialist cleaning, waste management and pest solutions services under one strong brand.
“Our new One Safe Solution message could not be more relevant,” she said. “We’re doing amazing things supporting a lot of customers, like bus and rail companies, schools and healthcare providers through the COVID-19 crisis.
“Everyone is very committed, knowing they can make a big difference to the lives of a lot of people. At the same time, SafeGroup is raising its profile, demonstrating it can respond quickly to customer needs using the latest disinfection technologies. It’s very exciting.”
Broad service range
Debbie is also focussed the broad range of services SafeGroup delivers and the longer-term needs of customers.
“COVID-19 is the number one current crisis, which is likely to influence specialist cleaning services for months and years to come,” she said. “But we need to look beyond the pandemic.
“SafeGroup’s strength is providing vital specialist services integrated across specialist cleaning, decontamination and waste services. That’s the message I want to be heard. That, and the fact we care.”
