Objective – To restore the building’s presentation to a standard befitting a premium corporate campus while adhering to the site’s strict environmental requirements
The Challenge
Delivering a premium cleaning outcome without the use of chemical agents presented a unique challenge. AstraZeneca’s strict biodiversity objectives prohibited the use of cleaning chemicals, requiring SafeGroup to identify an alternative solution capable of effectively removing extensive algae growth and ingrained contamination.
The project also involved several high–level areas that were inaccessible from ground level using conventional cleaning methods. To overcome this, SafeGroup deployed specialist equipment, including a 9–metre telescopic lance system, enabling safe and effective access to elevated surfaces without the need for powered access equipment.
To achieve the desired cleaning standards, SafeGroup utilised one of its purpose–built external cleaning units, combining variable heat and variable pressure technology. This approach delivered exceptional cleaning performance whilst remaining fully compliant with the site’s
environmental commitments.
Our Response

- Requirement to maintain safe pedestrian and vehicle access throughout the works
- Permit-controlled working environment requiring detailed planning and approvals

- No disruption to normal campus operations
- No requirement to close adjacent roadways or access routes
