CleanSafe Services has proved that effective after builders cleaning is no child’s play after being commissioned to clean new high quality offices created by the transformation of the former UK HQ of Toys R Us.

The specialist firm’s builders cleaning team put a final sparkle into the Grade A iD Maidenhead building at Vanwall Business Park in Maidenhead, Berkshire – matching the standard of the refurbishment carried out to create the contemporary offices.

Bradley Viglino, Project Manager for main contractor John Paul Construction, said: “CleanSafe Services did a very good job. The standard of their work was high, and they worked very well with the other contractors on site.

“At the end of a project like this, time is very limited and we’re under a lot of pressure to complete work and handover by a set date. Having an after builders cleaning contractor like CleanSafe you can rely on to be there when you need them, and work efficiently to challenging deadlines is reassuring.”

Carrying out after builders cleaning is an essential step in the completion of a new build or refurbishment project, and often makes the vital difference in the successful marketing of new office space, says CleanSafe Service’s Colin Williams.

He added: “No matter how tidy a construction team is, fragments of material, dust and residue from the building process are left behind once a project is finished, which is why an after building cleaning process is so important.

“An effective builders clean is about being painstakingly thorough, and using the right techniques and cleaning products to remove substances like glue, silicon sealant, protective coverings, and removing dust from places many cleaners don’t even know exist.

“Good after builders cleaning will leave a both the inside and outside of a building so clean, visitors will be wowed. As that includes potential new occupiers, nothing must prevent them from being impressed by what they see.”

The building was taken back to its structural frame, gutted and rebuilt to create the contemporary glass-fronted landmark office space, completed with the latest infrastructure for full IT support, and a double-height reception area.

Two stage process – builders clean and sparkle clean

The after builders cleaning process lasted four weeks, with the building cleaned, literally from top to bottom. Two types of specialist cleaning was carried out, first a builders clean, then a sparkle clean.

Colin Williams, Business Development Manager for CleanSafe Services, which has branches in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh, explained: “With the initial builders clean, we remove all building debris, protective covering, dust and other residues.

“At a point after that, which can be co-ordinated with the building contractor’s plans to hand over the building or the owner’s plans to market it, we carry out a sparkle clean, to remove any tiny particles of dust that has settled once more, and give every surface a final polish.”

Up to eight trained CleanSafe Services operatives worked on the Geoffrey House builders clean at any one time. It took two weeks along to carry out an external clean of the windows and window frames.

Specialist cleaning materials add to quality finish

A specialist cleaning compound was used to shine new galvanised floor sheets covering IT service ducting. Care was taken to remove dust from the tops of door frames and from behind piping in areas like toilets.

Colin Williams said: “When carrying out after builders cleaning and sparkle cleaning, it is not what you see straight away that counts, it’s what building owners or potential clients looking to rent property find when they look closely.

“That’s what sets a CleanSafe Services after builders cleaning service apart from others. We used the best quality cleaning products and the most effective techniques. The building is left looking clean, and smelling clean, because a fresh, clean smell is a sign of a good builders clean.”
