CleanSafe Services has carried out the final builders clean and sparkle clean at a large block of refurbished offices due to be used by a global IT company.
Leading office fit-out and refurbishment specialist Overbury commissioned CleanSafe to carry out the specialist cleaning work at 20-40 New Walk, in Leicester.
The offices, owned by Leicester City Council, were being extensively upgraded and redesigned ready to be handed over to the new client.
CleanSafe Business Development Manager Elaine Curran said: “As builders cleaning and sparkle cleaning specialists, we were delighted to be commissioned for this project.
“Lead up to starting the work was relatively short, and we worked closely with Overbury and their other contracts to fit in the builder’s cleaning work with final preparations for the building hand over.”
A key challenge was the high level cleaning component in the project, as service ducting and cabling hanging from the ceiling were being left open, an increasingly common trend in the interior design of commercial offices.
Elaine explained: “It’s an example of a design trend led greatly by customer demand that increases the workload and complexity for builders cleaning specialists like us.
“Every square inch of ducting and piping hand to be cleaned by hand by our builders cleaning operatives. Because there was still a lot of contractor activity at the time, we used pop-up podium steps as they took up less space.
“We used best practice builders cleaning techniques, cleaning from top down, using a range of cleaning products to ensure every surface was cleaned in the appropriate way to the highest standard.
“I have to say, our work was made easier by the quality of the environment created by Overbury. It was one of the cleanest refurbishment spaces I have ever seen. However, we still had to follow our set builders clean and sparkle clean protocols.”
A team of up to five of CleanSafe’s builders cleaning specialists worked on the project over three weeks, with a double shift operating in the final week to complete the work within the very challenging deadlines in place.
