SafeGroup are now looking to recruit an Operations Manager to join our expanding business on a full-time basis. About the Role:

  • Managing a team of Specialist Cleaning Operatives across the Southern Regions
  • Responsible for improving operational efficiencies and meeting the needs of the business financial expectations
  • Working with the planners and Customer services to ensure work schedules are fulfilled and completed on time.
  • Maintain regular communication with staff and provide company updates
  • Ensure that the Health & Safety requirements are implemented and adhered to by all staff
  • Work with the commercial teams on new sales opportunities for reactive & contract work
  • Liaise daily with the customer service teams to fulfil customer orders
  • Monitor the CRM system to ensure all jobs are being completed on time and in full
  • Motivate, monitor and coach the staff to ensure service excellence is achieved
  • Conduct regular staff reviews on performance and feedback on areas for development
  • Ensure that all employees are using IT correctly for travel time and job completion
  • Monitor work schedules and ensure that productivity levels are in line with cost parameters
  • Provide new starters with the necessary induction training with an appropriate ‘buddy’
  • Proactively liaise with Customer Services and commercial teams to meet customer orders
  • Work with Payroll and assist with the submission data spreadsheet with all hours including sickness/holiday
  • Monitor and manage all absence including holiday, sickness, and paid & unpaid leave
  • Provide management information around productivity levels and general KPI targets
  • Assess operating procedures and processes and make recommendations for improvements
  • Monitor that employees are maintaining vehicle checks to ensure correct safety standards
  • Ability to interview and select employees for new roles within the operation


About You

  • Minimum of 3 years’ managerial experience in an operational role in the service/FM sector
  • Previous operational experience in the cleaning and/or waste sectors
  • IOSH certificate or equivalent qualification is desirable
  • Previous working knowledge of planning work schedules for staff to attend jobs
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships across all levels of management and staff
  • Highly customer focussed and always looking to deliver a high quality of service for clients
  • Good attention to detail and ability to spot issues with data and recommend solutions
  • Capable of delegating duties and tasks to other staff and monitoring performance
  • Possess leadership qualities and ability to act as a deputy to the Head of Operations
  • Flexible and able to react quickly to the needs of the customer & SafeGroup
  • Ability to deliver quality results under pressure and prioritise work
  • Competence in Microsoft Office products especially Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Calm, confident and empathetic manner when dealing with staffing issues
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise a demanding workload
